Seasons in Australia are the opposite of the Northern Hemisphere: Summer is December-February, Autumn is March-May, Winter is June-August, Spring is September-November. The climate varies enormously — from tropical in the north to temperate in the south.

The UV index is regularly above 11 (extreme) in summer. Sunburn can occur in as little as 11 minutes. This is not optional — skin cancer rates in Australia are among the highest globally.

Kmart and Target offer affordable basics. Cotton On is a popular Australian brand for casual clothing. For work attire, try H&M, Uniqlo, or Myer department stores. Op shops (charity shops) are excellent for affordable second-hand clothing. Consider buying season-end sales for significant discounts at major retailers.
